Tomás Ferreira is a product engineer at Arbor, a Lisbon start-up making booking and table software for independent restaurants in Portugal and Spain. He works across the whole stack and the whole problem, from interviewing owners at four in the afternoon, when they finally have a moment, to shipping the change and watching the numbers the following week.

He grew up in Setúbal and studied computer science in Lisbon, then stayed for the light. Away from work, Tomás plays five-a-side football by the river in Alcântara, a short walk from this year's venue, and keeps a list of the city's best bifanas, which he will share if asked.
