Kenji Arai
Staff ML Engineer,
Tokyo
Kenji Arai is a staff machine learning engineer at Corvid, where he leads the team behind Corvid's research agent, now used by more than two million people. He built the evaluation and rollout system that lets the team change models every week without surprising anyone, and he wrote most of the incident reports for the weeks when it did.
Before Corvid he worked on search ranking for an online retailer, which taught him that offline metrics and real users disagree more often than anyone admits. Kenji lives in Kichijōji, runs the team's Friday reading group, and brews coffee with an unreasonable amount of equipment.
