Daniel Reis is CTO and co-founder of Stackwell, the deployment platform that runs production apps for some forty thousand teams. Its core platform is still maintained by eight engineers, and Daniel has spent six years arguing, with numbers, that a small team on a boring stack beats a big team on an interesting one.

He started his career writing billing software for a Porto telecoms company and still reaches for a spreadsheet before a whiteboard. He lives in Matosinhos with his family, swims in the Atlantic most of the year, and keeps a running list of the outages he has caused, which he shares with every new hire.
